Path of Exile 2 - Weekly Wednesday Live Stream - July 16, 2025

It’s been a while since my last post, and after taking a two-week break from live streaming, I figured it was the perfect time to breathe new life into the blog!

A lot has changed since my last blog post. As I mentioned previously, I was getting frustrated with my Infernalist build. In my opinion, the Dawn of the Hunt league really gutted most, if not all, Infernalist minion builds. I didn’t feel like trying out Lich, so I decided to re-roll and started a Ranger, focusing on the Deadeye ascension path. I just wanted to try a completely different type of gameplay.

That decision turned out to be a good one. I finished the campaign in roughly 15 hours of playtime. I always take a bit longer to make sure I clear all main and optional bosses to grab every possible upgrade.

This brings me to something I think Grinding Gear Games really needs to address:

💡
Grinding Gear Games should offer an option to skip the campaign once you have completed it in a league.

Early in the campaign, I already noticed a clear difference. With the Ranger, I was able to deal a lot of damage and stay alive even with low-quality armor and weapons. It is understandable that there are differences between classes and that some are easier to play than others, but in this case, the gap feels too large to ignore. That impression stayed with me even as I moved into the endgame.

As you might have seen during my livestream, I am currently running Tier 15 or 16 Waystones and working my way toward Citadels. I even cleared an Iron Citadel during my stream yesterday. One of the things I am struggling with is the imbalance between time investment and the rewards you get. At first, there is a clear sense of progression as you climb Waystone tiers and unlock the first endgame bosses. But now, I have hit a wall. I cannot seem to find better weapons or armor, and I am stuck when it comes to pushing into higher-level bosses.

Right now, it feels like the only way to progress is by making expensive trades to get better gear. A stronger bow, a better quiver, or higher-quality jewelry like rings and an amulet.

Maybe part of the issue is that we are now in the fourth month of the league, and most players have already moved on or are waiting for the next league to start. GGG is probably focused on preparing for the next big release and unlikely to make major changes to the current one, which still has about six weeks to go. That is completely understandable. I just hope they take some of these issues into account going forward.

Once GGG releases more details about the next league, I will definitely cover it here.

Anyway, that is it for this blog post. Looking forward to seeing you all on stream, in the comments on YouTube, or over on the Alphagamer forum!
